Iran's First Vice President announces increase in consumer coupons

Mohammad Reza Aref, Iran's First Vice President, has announced that an increase in the amount of electronic consumer coupons (kalabarg) will soon be implemented. During a series of meetings with religious authorities in Qom, Aref emphasized that the government's priorities include securing essential goods and addressing the livelihoods of the people despite sanctions and recent conflicts.

Aref also addressed strategic and geopolitical issues, stating that maintaining Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz is a primary national concern. He suggested that the management of the Strait should be handled by Iran and Oman.

Regarding foreign policy, Aref noted that negotiations with the United States remain part of Iran's strategy, despite what he described as repeated failures by the U.S. to meet its commitments. He also highlighted the importance of expanding relations with neighboring countries, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and other Islamic nations. To combat economic pressure, the government aims to fight inflation, hoarding, and price gouging while working to encourage the return of emigrated intellectuals.
