Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghsi Accuses United States of War Crimes

Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araghsi said that recent U.S. strikes on what he described as "vital infrastructure" – including bridges and energy production facilities – constitute war crimes. In a statement posted on Telegram, he argued the attacks violate the United Nations Charter, the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and fundamental principles of international law, calling them "clear violations" and "absurd, diabolical threats" from Washington.

Iranian ambassador to the United Nations Amir Saeid Iravani echoed the view, telling the UN Secretary‑General that the United States is the aggressor and that its actions amount to serious breaches of international humanitarian law. Iravani sent a letter to the UN demanding accountability and urging all governments to prosecute those responsible. The accusations come after a fragile truce between the United States and Iran collapsed, ending a memorandum signed earlier in June that had raised hopes for a broader peace agreement.
