Iran's IRGC chief claims defensive shield against threats

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) chief Ahmad Vahidi stated that Iran has established a “solid defensive shield” to protect against enemy threats. Speaking on Iran’s National Defence Industry Day, Vahidi emphasized the necessity of the country’s “Strategy of Defensive and Offensive Empowerment” to counter new forms of combined military aggression.

Vahidi praised the Iranian defense industry for enhancing the nation’s deterrent power and offensive capabilities despite ongoing international sanctions.

These statements follow increased tensions with the United States. US President Donald Trump recently announced an “Economic D-Day,” describing a massive economic operation intended to target Iran’s financial lifelines. The proposed measures aim to disrupt oil smuggling, financial transfers, exchange houses, and ship registries to isolate the country.
