Iran's Revolutionary Guard reports oil tanker fire in Strait of Hormuz and strikes on US sites in Gulf states

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that one of three vessels attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz caught fire after what it called an "illegal" passage, forcing the two remaining ships to retreat. The IRGC warned that the strait remains under Iranian control and any vessel ignoring coordination would face "the same fate."

In a broader series of claims, the IRGC and Iran's regular army said they carried out drone and missile attacks on U.S. and allied facilities in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain and northern Iraq. Targets mentioned include ammunition depots, a naval watchtower, and an Amazon data‑center building. Kuwait’s air‑defence systems reportedly intercepted some of the drones and missiles, and Qatar Airways temporarily suspended passenger flights to Bahrain, Kuwait and Iraq.

These statements come amid heightened tensions over maritime security in the Gulf and the presence of U.S. forces in the region.
