Iran’s Supreme Leader funeral triggers security alerts and special aviation safeguards

Guardian Council legal scholar Khairallah Parvin recalled meetings with the Supreme Leader, emphasizing the importance of the constitution, strict election law and respect for the rights of the people in vetting candidates. He also highlighted the Leader’s role in managing national crises, from war to natural disasters.

The Iranian Civil Aviation Organization announced special measures to protect flight safety after sabotage threats attributed to hostile forces. Working with the military, it adjusted schedules, arranged alternative routes and ensured the transport of the Leader’s body and pilgrim traffic during the funeral, keeping air services largely uninterrupted.
