Iran's UN Ambassador Accuses US and Israel of Threatening International Peace

Iranian ambassador and deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, Gholamhossein Darzi, told the UN Security Council that the United States and Israel are continuing illegal and aggressive actions that endanger regional and international peace and security. He said Israel is violating the cease‑fire in Gaza, expanding settlements in the occupied West Bank, attacking Lebanon, and breaching Syria's sovereignty, while the United States is supporting these moves and conducting operations that contravene the UN Charter.

Darzi demanded a permanent cease‑fire, unrestricted humanitarian aid to Gaza, full Israeli withdrawal from occupied territories, and full UN membership for Palestine. He cited the International Criminal Court arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as evidence that no one is above international law, and rejected U.S. accusations as politically motivated misinformation, insisting Iran’s actions are defensive under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
