Irapuato begins preparatory work for Calzada de Guadalupe bridge

Preparatory works for the construction of the Calzada de Guadalupe overpass, popularly known as the 'Puente de la Bimbo', are scheduled to begin on October 30 in Irapuato, Guanajuato. This infrastructure project aims to improve mobility and reduce conflicts between vehicular and railway traffic at the railroad crossing.

The project involves a state investment of 360 million pesos and a municipal contribution of approximately 50 million pesos. The municipal funds are designated for the executive project, landscaping, compensation for affected areas, complementary works, and the creation of alternate routes. Beyond the bridge, the plan includes a multi-use court under the overpass, green areas, urban furniture, and LED lighting.

Recent reports indicate the contract was awarded to Consorcio Ingenieros de Guanajuato S.A. de C.V. for 349,298,293.49 pesos, representing a 9.77% increase over the initially announced budget of 318,200,000 pesos. The construction is expected to take 450 calendar days, or approximately 15 months.
