Irapuato: Dismembered remains found in suitcase and bags
The dismembered remains of a man were discovered on Thursday morning near the community of San Francisco de la Charca, south of Irapuato. The remains were found inside a dark suitcase and two black bags along a dirt road, approximately 100 meters from the Guadalupano cemetery.
Local residents reported the discovery to emergency services after noticing parts of the body protruding from the luggage amidst the brush. Following the report, municipal police, the National Guard, the Mexican Army, and State Public Security Forces arrived to secure the scene.
Investigators from the Irapuato Regional Prosecutor's Office processed the site to collect evidence. The remains, which included the torso in the suitcase and the head, arms, and legs in the bags, were transported to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for identification and to determine the cause of death.
