Irapuato strengthens peacebuilding alliance with United Nations

The government of Irapuato has renewed its partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to strengthen the Citizen Institute for Peace. During a meeting between Mayor Lorena Alfaro García and UNDP resident representative Silvia Morimoto, officials discussed advancing technical and institutional capacities to promote social responsibility and peacebuilding projects.

This collaboration includes technical support for transformative projects through participatory budgeting and the creation of tools to measure and communicate the results of peace-related public policies. The initiative aligns with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In Coahuila, the State Institute for Adult Education (IEEA) is expanding its educational reach. The institute recently awarded 59 basic education certificates in Ramos Arizpe to individuals completing primary and secondary studies. Additionally, the IEEA signed a collaboration agreement with the Polytechnic University of Ramos Arizpe (UPRA) to allow university students to conduct professional internships at the institute, fostering professional training and community service.
