Irapuato hosts third Festival of Older Persons

The Government of Irapuato, through the Municipal DIF System and in coordination with the Institute of Culture and Tourism, held the third edition of the 2026 Festival of Older Persons. The event aimed to promote active, healthy, and inclusive aging while strengthening family and community ties.

More than 2,000 attendees gathered at the Andador Juárez and the Main Garden of the Historic Center. The festivities included a talent showcase featuring folk dance, choir, and musical performances by the Estudiantina ICULTUR and the Rondalla ‘Voces y Añoranzas’. Additionally, a Caravan of Older Person Entrepreneurs was organized to promote productive projects led by seniors in the municipality.

The musical program concluded with a tribute to José José and a headline concert by the Sonora Fuerza Matancera from Cuba.
