Irapuato inaugurates first Board of Directors for ICULTUR

The first Board of Directors of the Institute of Culture and Tourism of Irapuato (ICULTUR) has been officially sworn in. The new board is led by Oscar Mauricio Sainz Góngora.

The establishment of ICULTUR marks a transition from the former Municipal Institute of Culture, Art, and Recreation (IMCAR), which operated for 15 years. This institutional evolution aims to integrate culture and tourism into a single administrative framework. Mayor Lorena Alfaro García stated that the move is part of a strategic roadmap to expand cultural access through public spaces, museums, and festivals.
