Irapuato receives CALEA Tri-Arc Award for security excellence
The Municipal Citizen Security Secretariat of Irapuato, Guanajuato, has received the CALEA Tri-Arc Award, marking a significant international recognition for its public security standards. This distinction makes Irapuato the third municipality in Mexico to achieve this level of accreditation.
The award recognizes the simultaneous accreditation of three critical pillars: municipal police operations, the training and professionalization academy, and the Command, Control, Communications, and Computing Center (C4). During the ceremony, officials received three obelisks representing these specific achievements in maintaining international excellence standards.
Lorena Alfaro García, the Mayor of Irapuato, stated that the recognition is part of a broader strategy to strengthen security through technology, intelligence, and professional training. Gilberto Loya Chávez, representing CALEA Executive Director W. Craig Hartley Jr., noted that the achievement is the result of a continuous process of evaluation and procedural improvement.
