Irapuato road congestion persists due to fuel tankers

Heavy concentrations of fuel tankers continue to cause significant traffic congestion on the Irapuato-Salamanca federal highway. Surveillance footage from the C4 center shows long lines of vehicles and fuel transport units stretching from the Libramiento Sur near the Military Zone to Ciudad Industrial.

Irapuato Mayor Lorena Alfaro García has issued public appeals to Pemex, the National Guard, and the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport (SICT) to intervene. The Mayor has specifically requested that Pemex address the issue at its source and that the National Guard implement preventive measures to avoid accidents. Additionally, she has called on the SICT to halt maintenance works that are currently exacerbating the traffic complications on this corridor.
