Iraq plans to increase oil exports and provide one million residential plots

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi has announced a comprehensive government plan aimed at boosting the nation's economy and infrastructure. During the eighth Baghdad Dialogue Conference, al-Zaidi detailed a strategy to provide one million residential land plots to citizens within three years through investment competition.

On the energy front, the government aims to increase oil exports to between 8 and 10 million barrels per day over the next six years. To achieve this, Iraq is exploring alternative export routes via the Turkish port of Ceyhan, as well as through Baniyas and Aqaba. The upcoming national budget will prioritize the electricity sector, focusing on production, transmission, and distribution, alongside an expansion into solar energy.

Financial reforms are also a central pillar of the plan. Al-Zaidi noted that new economic models for fuel consumption are expected to generate savings of approximately 17.8 trillion dinars annually. Additionally, the government intends to establish a $100 billion development fund in partnership with the Central Bank, the private sector, and international institutions. The Prime Minister also confirmed that government salaries and payments are secured and emphasized ongoing efforts to combat corruption and consolidate state control over weaponry.
