Iraq Security Media Cell denies terrorist release claims

The Security Media Cell, operating under the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has denied recent claims circulating on social media and in some news outlets regarding the release of terrorists.

The disputed reports, attributed to a politician, alleged that large numbers of individuals classified as terrorists were released from prisons in Erbil and Duhok and subsequently transferred toward Kirkuk province. The Security Media Cell stated that these claims are not supported by any official statements or positions from competent Iraqi security authorities.

Security and intelligence agencies emphasized that they are continuously monitoring terrorist threats and the movements of wanted individuals. The Cell urged citizens to rely only on official government sources and called on media platforms to exercise accuracy and responsibility to avoid causing public confusion or undermining community security.
