Iraq targets 10 million barrels of daily oil production by 2030

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi has announced a strategic plan to increase the nation's oil production to 10 million barrels per day by 2030. This initiative aims to align production levels with Iraq's significant oil reserves and population needs. To achieve this, the government plans to expand exploration in the Kurdistan region, invest in associated gas to meet domestic energy needs, and host an international conference to attract foreign investment and expertise.

As part of this expansion, Iraq is accelerating the development of new pipeline projects to diversify its export routes and reduce reliance on the Strait of Hormuz. Two major projects are being prioritized: the Basra-Haditha-Fishkhabur route, which could connect to the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline in Turkey, and the Haditha-Banias route leading to the Syrian Mediterranean coast. These projects are intended to provide alternative export paths to the Mediterranean, enhancing Iraq's position in the global energy market.
