Iraq's Fuad Hussein meets US chargé d’affaires to advance MoUs

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with U.S. Chargé d’affaires Joshua Harris in Baghdad to discuss how to implement the memoranda of understanding signed during the Iraqi delegation’s recent visit to Washington. The talks reviewed the outcomes of that visit, as well as the prime minister’s trip to Iran, and examined cooperation with Turkey and Saudi Arabia, focusing on regional maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and the potential impact on oil markets and Iraq’s financial situation.

In parallel, the U.S. Treasury announced the removal of 84 individuals and entities – some linked to Iraq – from its sanctions lists as part of a broader effort to streamline the program and ease banking compliance burdens.
