Irará former mayor rescued after home invasion

The former mayor of Irará, known as ‘Parrinha’, was rescued by military police during the early hours of Monday after his residence was invaded. Police responded to an alert regarding a home invasion and discovered a 51-year-old man, identified as the former partner of the ex-mayor's daughter, locked in a room with the victim.

The suspect reportedly exhibited altered behavior, made threats to commit a tragedy, and resisted arrest by engaging in a physical struggle with officers. During the operation, police seized a .38 caliber revolver with six intact rounds and a quantity of a substance resembling marijuana.

The suspect was transferred to Alagoinhas and faces potential charges including illegal possession of a weapon, home invasion, false imprisonment, and contempt of authority.
