IRB(Re) appoints Daniel Castillo to head new Swiss and Maltese reinsurance units
Brazilian reinsurance group IRB(Re) announced a board reorganisation to support its international expansion. Daniel Castillo, who led the company’s reinsurance operations for four years, will become director‑president of two new subsidiaries the group plans to establish in Switzerland and Malta. The launch of the overseas units is pending approval from the respective regulatory authorities.
Three senior executives – Daniel Volpe (technical and retrocession), Ricardo Siquieri (life reinsurance) and Daniel Zaltman (non‑life underwriting) – will now report directly to CEO Marcos Falcão. The restructuring is intended to preserve underwriting discipline, focus on profitability and accelerate IRB(Re)’s global market presence.
