Irccs Crob establishes university-led Nuclear Medicine unit
The Irccs Crob institute in Rionero has formally approved an agreement to establish its Nuclear Medicine Complex Operative Unit as a university-led structure. The initiative, signed by Director General Massimo De Fino and Rector Fabrizio Caccavale, implements a regional protocol to integrate healthcare services with the teaching and research activities of the University of Basilicata’s new Department of Health Sciences.
Professor Giovanni Storto has been appointed to lead the unit for a five-year term. The new academic configuration aims to combine clinical care with training for doctors, residents, and medical radiology technicians. Key objectives include developing translational research, utilizing multidisciplinary teams, and implementing artificial intelligence in nuclear medicine and digital health.
