iReader launches Ocean 6 Pro e-reader with peripheral support
Chinese manufacturer iReader has launched the Ocean 6 Pro, a new e-reader designed to compete with Amazon's Kindle. The device officially went on sale in China on Tuesday, priced at approximately ¥1,799.
A key differentiator for the Ocean 6 Pro is its support for external peripherals. Utilizing USB OTG technology via its USB-C port, the device allows users to connect a mouse, keyboard, and even USB flash drives.
The e-reader features a 7-inch Carta 1300 e-ink screen with a resolution of 1680 x 1264 and a density of 300 PPI. The display incorporates Yunxi Soft Light technology, which combines front lighting with tempered glass to enhance text clarity and contrast. Users can adjust brightness and color temperature across 30 different levels.
In terms of performance, the device is powered by an eight-core 6nm processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage. The manufacturer claims a 300% increase in overall performance compared to the previous generation. The hardware is lightweight at 196 grams and approximately 7 mm thick, featuring physical page-turn buttons for one-handed use.
