IREC 2026 in Hyderabad marks first global real estate conference in India

The 7th International Real Estate Conference (IREC 2026) has launched in Hyderabad, marking the first time the global event is being held in India. The conference features over 2,000 delegates from more than 35 countries, including industry leaders, investors, and policymakers.

A key component of the event is the release of the India Housing Report – September 2026, prepared by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and CRE Matrix. The report indicates that primary housing sales across India's Tier-1 cities reached approximately ₹3.63 lakh crore in the first half of 2026, a figure broadly flat compared to the previous year.

The report highlights a significant shift in market leadership, with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) overtaking the National Capital Region (NCR) as India’s largest housing market. MMR accounted for 26% of the total housing value in Tier-1 cities, while NCR’s share stood at 19%. While total sales volumes across Tier-1 cities saw a slight year-on-year decline of about 2%, the MMR region experienced growth in both sales value and volume, particularly in areas like Navi Mumbai and Raigad.
