Ireland and UK food recalls over Listeria and milk allergen risks

A batch of smoked salmon sold by the Cork‑based fishmonger K O'Connell Fishmongers has been recalled after the Food Safety Authority of Ireland flagged possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall covers smoked salmon slices (100 g, 150 g and 320 g packs) with batch code SS16726 and a use‑by date of 7 July. No illnesses have been reported, and retailers have been asked to remove the product and advise consumers not to eat it.

In the United Kingdom, supermarket Morrisons has issued an urgent recall of its Maple and Bacon Back of the Net snack. Some packs were mistakenly produced with a milk‑containing product that was not declared on the label, posing a health risk for people with milk allergies or intolerances. The affected product is dated 22/8/26; consumers are advised not to eat it and to return it to any Morrisons store for a full refund, no receipt required. No other items are affected.
