Ireland launches SPRAOI system for 2026 sports funding

The Irish government is transitioning the Community Sport Facilities Fund 2026 to a new online grant management system called SPRAOI. The platform is scheduled to go live on Monday, 28 September.

Announced by Minister Patrick O’Donovan TD and Minister of State Charlie McConalogue TD, the fund serves as the primary programme for developing sports infrastructure and purchasing non-personal sports equipment across Ireland.

Eligible applicants include voluntary not-for-profit sports clubs, community groups, national governing bodies, and local authorities. Schools and third-level colleges may apply if working jointly with an eligible sports organisation. While registrations from the previous OSCAR system will be transferred automatically, existing users are encouraged to verify their information on the new platform.
