Ireland launches Startup Ireland initiative to boost entrepreneurship
Ireland has introduced Startup Ireland, a national programme led by Enterprise Ireland aimed at helping entrepreneurs scale businesses globally. The initiative seeks to support 1,000 new startups and increase the number of companies reaching €1 million in turnover by 20%.
The programme focuses on three core priorities: strengthening the national ecosystem, accelerating company growth, and connecting Irish founders with international investors, customers, and partners. A new National Startup Hub will be established near Enterprise Ireland’s Dublin headquarters to serve as a central meeting point for researchers, investors, and multinational companies.
To support various stages of business development, the Startup Ireland National Accelerator Programme will include a National Company Accelerator offering €100,000 investments, a Talent Accelerator for experienced individuals, and regional pre-accelerator programmes. Additionally, Ireland’s fintech sector is seeing growth driven by digital payments and artificial intelligence, supported by an existing ecosystem of over 400 international financial services firms.
