Ireland lifts nationwide hosepipe ban ahead of schedule
Uisce Éireann has lifted the nationwide hosepipe ban in Ireland with immediate effect, two weeks ahead of the original schedule. The restriction, which was implemented on July 16, limited the use of public water supplies for non-essential activities such as watering gardens, washing vehicles, and filling swimming pools.
The utility attributed the early termination of the ban to increased rainfall, improved water availability, and significant conservation efforts by households, businesses, farms, and communities. These collective efforts helped protect local water supplies during a period of high demand and dry weather.
While the restrictions are no longer in place, Uisce Éireann continues to encourage the public to use water responsibly, noting that local supplies can respond differently to changing weather conditions.
