Ireland weather forecast includes wind warnings for three counties
Ireland is expected to experience highly variable weather this week, characterized by a mix of sunny spells, heavy showers, and significant rainfall. Met Éireann, the national meteorological service, has warned of potential disruptions to agriculture, transportation, and tourism due to these fluctuating conditions.
A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for Donegal, Galway, and Mayo for Wednesday. The warning, effective from 6 am to 6 pm, anticipates strong southwesterly winds, particularly along coastal areas. Forecasters have cautioned against difficult driving and cycling conditions, noting the potential for displaced debris, loose objects, and fallen trees.
While some periods will remain relatively mild, heavy rain is expected to move from the west toward the east. Tuesday may see isolated thunderstorms in the northwest, followed by a wet and breezy Thursday as rain clears eastward.
