Ireland women's rugby names WXV training squad with seven uncapped players
Ireland women's head coach Scott Bemand has announced a 36-player training squad for the upcoming WXV Global Series, notably including seven uncapped players. The new additions are Jemima Adams-Verling, Sophie Barrett, Beth Buttimer, Caitríona Finn, Kate Jordan, Lucia Linn, and Alana McInerney, all of whom earned selection following performances in the Celtic Challenge and the Vodafone Women's Interprovincial Championship.
The squad will convene in Dublin to prepare for the WXV Global Series, which Bemand described as an “extremely exciting” addition to the international rugby calendar. Ireland is scheduled to host matches against the USA Women's Eagles and Japan in September. Following these home fixtures, the team will travel to South Africa in October for a two-test tour against the Springbok Women.
