Ireland women's rugby team wins series against South Africa

Ireland secured a 2-0 series victory over South Africa in their first-ever women's tour of the country, winning the second test 38-17 at Athlone Sports Stadium in Cape Town. Following a 40-27 win the previous week, Ireland dominated the final quarter of the match to overcome a mid-game deficit.

Béibhinn Parsons led the performance with a hat-trick, bringing her international try tally to 29. Aoife Dalton also contributed two tries during Ireland's 24-point unanswered run in the closing stages. Earlier in the match, South Africa's Unam Tose scored to briefly put the hosts in the lead, while Ireland's captain Erin King scored an early try supported by a Dannah O’Brien conversion.

The match featured several disciplinary incidents, including a ten-minute yellow card for South African winger Alichia Arries following a high tackle on O’Brien, and a yellow card for Ireland's Aoibheann Reilly.
