Ireland's Land Development Agency targets 13,000 homes by 2030

The state‑owned Land Development Agency (LDA) says it is on track to deliver roughly 13,000 new affordable homes by 2030. About 1,800 homes are slated for completion in 2023, with more than 8,000 scheduled between 2026 and 2028, bringing the projected total to around 16,500 homes and housing an estimated 35,000 residents.

The agency’s pipeline can support over 28,000 homes, with nearly 6,500 already under construction across more than 20 sites. Funding comes from a multi‑billion‑euro government package, and LDA’s balance sheet shows assets of just over €2.9 billion and €25 million of rental income in the first half of the year. While the majority of developments are apartments in Dublin and Cork, LDA also plans projects in Limerick, Galway, Kildare and Waterford, and aims to expand beyond the capital in the longer term.
