Iren approves 10.4 billion euro industrial plan and leadership changes

Iren has approved its 2026–2035 industrial plan, which includes 10.4 billion euros in investments. The company expects to make 2,800 hires over the course of the plan to support growth and generational turnover. Key investment areas include water services, electricity distribution, waste-to-energy plants, district heating, and energy facilities.

Targeted professional profiles range from technicians, electrical and mechanical maintenance workers, and IT specialists to administrative, commercial, and data analysis experts. The company intends to evaluate both junior and experienced candidates through selection processes focused on technical skills and motivation.

In conjunction with the new strategic plan, Iren announced leadership changes effective November 1, 2026. Massimo Ferrari will become the CEO of Iren Ambiente, succeeding Eugenio Bertolini, while Gianluca Riu will take over as CEO of IRETI, succeeding Fabio Giuseppini. Both men have served as Operations Directors for their respective companies since January 2026.
