Iren approves industrial plan through 2035 with €10.4 billion investment
Iren S.p.A. has approved an updated industrial plan spanning 2026 to 2035, centered on a €10.4 billion investment strategy. The company aims to strengthen its position in strategic infrastructure, including water cycles, electricity distribution, and waste-to-energy plants, which will receive approximately 50% of the total investment.
The plan targets an EBITDA of up to €1.95 billion by 2035, with an expected average annual EBITDA growth of 4% and net profit growth of 6%. A key strategic shift involves increasing the weight of regulated and semi-regulated activities to 80% of the business to ensure more stable cash flows.
To drive efficiency, Iren plans to implement digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and organizational simplification, aiming for a return on investment (ROI) of 10% by 2035. The company also intends to maintain financial discipline, targeting a net debt/EBITDA ratio of 2.8x by the end of the period, while upholding its current dividend policy to provide stable shareholder remuneration.
