He expressed regret for a gesture made toward the Trabzonspor stands during a match between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahçe on March 17, 2024. He described the action as something that did not befit him and noted that he felt more like a Fenerbahçe supporter than a professional player in that high-tension moment. The incident previously resulted in a one-match suspension by the Professional Football Discipline Board.
