Irfan Kamil re-elected as head of Iwakum

Irfan Kamil has been re-elected by acclamation as the General Chairperson of the Ikatan Wartawan Hukum (Iwakum) for the 2026–2028 period. The decision was finalized during the III Iwakum Congress held in Jakarta on Friday, August 28, 2026.

Hedi, acting as the presiding officer, announced the decision following a consensus among all congress participants. The mandate grants Kamil the authority to form the new management structure for the upcoming term.

Kamil stated that his focus for the 2026–2028 term will be on organizational consolidation, membership administration, and increasing professional capacity. Planned initiatives include legal journalism training, discussions, legal classes, strengthened advocacy, and expanded institutional cooperation to benefit journalists covering legal matters.
