IRGC affirms military readiness amid US-Iran tensions

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has affirmed its full combat readiness to defend Iran against any potential American military attacks. IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebi stated that the nature of Iran’s response remains a military matter and that specific details and capabilities cannot be disclosed in advance. He emphasized that Iran will demonstrate its response through field actions rather than “Hollywood-style propaganda.”

Mohebi clarified that while the IRGC is prepared for long-term warfare, this readiness does not preclude diplomatic negotiations. He noted that the door for talks with the United States remains open, mentioning potential proposals via intermediaries regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. However, he specified that the IRGC lacks direct diplomatic channels, as such responsibilities fall under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Additionally, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf described Iranian diplomacy as being rooted in a “culture of sacred defense,” asserting that diplomacy is not a sign of surrender but a method of converting field strength into political achievements. He maintained that Iran has developed the capacity to deter enemies through its defensive capabilities.
