Irina Gutnic joins National Liberal Platform in Moldova

Former Chisinau Deputy Mayor Irina Gutnic has joined the National Liberal Platform, a political project comprising the National Liberal Party (PNL), the League of Cities and Communes (LOC), and the Coalition for Unity and Welfare (CUB).

Announced on October 26 in Chisinau, Gutnic will coordinate partnerships between the three political formations, civil society, local public administration, and public figures. A primary objective of the platform is to strengthen pro-European forces within the Republic of Moldova.

The participating parties are scheduled to hold internal congresses on November 29, with a unified political formation congress planned for early 2027. This unified congress is expected to launch the electoral campaign and announce the candidate for the Chisinau Mayoralty.

Gutnic previously served in the National Alternative Movement (MAN) led by Ion Ceban. She left the party following her dismissal as deputy mayor in May 2026, a decision she successfully challenged in the Chisinau Court of Appeals due to concerns regarding its legality.
