Iris Prize reveals 2026 Best British Short shortlist

The Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival has announced the 15-film shortlist for the 2026 Best British Short award. The selection includes films from Wales, Scotland, and England.

The announcement was made during a special event hosted by the Scene Festival in Manchester. The award category is supported by Film4 and Pinewood Studios. Following the festival, the shortlisted films will be available for streaming on Channel 4 for one year.

Nominated filmmakers are eligible for BAFTA consideration. Festival Director Berwyn Rowlands noted that the partnership with Film4 helps provide visibility to LGBTQ+ stories that may be overlooked by mainstream media.
