Irish airports expect over 590,000 passengers this August Bank Holiday

Dublin Airport forecasts more than 527,000 passengers passing through its terminals over the four‑day August Bank Holiday weekend, with daily totals projected at 134,000 on Friday, 129,000 on Saturday, 136,000 on Sunday and 128,000 on Monday. The airport advises travellers to arrive early and notes that security queues remain short.

Shannon Airport expects over 65,000 passengers, a 7 % rise on the same period last year, and reported a 12 % increase in total traffic for the first half of 2026. The airport cites an expanded route network and Ryanair’s €50 million investment in a new maintenance facility and engineering academy, which will support more than 400 skilled jobs.

Together, the two Irish airports anticipate handling more than 590,000 travelers during the bank‑holiday weekend, underscoring strong demand for both business and leisure travel across the region.
