Irish athletes compete in day five of European Athletics Championships

Irish athletes are scheduled for significant competition during day five of the European Athletics Championships 2026 in Birmingham.

Kate O’Connor is set to compete in multiple events for the women’s heptathlon, including the 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, and 200m. In the track events, the Irish men’s and women’s 4x400m relay teams will participate in round one. Additionally, Andrew Coscoran and Cathal Doyle are scheduled for the men’s 1500m round one, while Niamh Allen and Fiona Everard will compete in the women’s 10,000m final.

Broadcasting for the championships includes coverage on RTÉ 2 and BBC One.
