Irish athletes compete in European rowing and world road running events

Irish athletes are competing in several international sporting events. In Spain, Rowing Ireland is represented by eight crews and eleven clubs at the European Coastal Endurance Championships in La Línea de la Concepción. Following the Beach Sprint racing, competitors such as Monika Dukarska, Barry Hooper, and Florence Fitzgerald are set to participate in various solo and double categories.

Additionally, three Irish crews—Shane O’Flaherty, Kate Dunne, and the junior mixed double of Conor Kelly and Isabella Monahan—have progressed to the Last 16 knockout stages of the European Beach Sprint Championships.

In road running, the Irish national team is preparing for the World Road Running Championships in Copenhagen. The team is focusing on rigorous training to compete against elite global runners on the challenging Danish course.
