Cullera: Guardia Civil investigates deaths of Irish couple in resort jacuzzi

An investigation is underway by the Guardia Civil's homicide unit following the discovery of an Irish couple, aged 50 and 45, dead in a jacuzzi at a rented villa in Cullera, Spain. The bodies were found by the couple's two children, aged 14 and 16, in the Cap Blanc residential area.

Initial forensic findings indicate the deceased had injuries consistent with puncture wounds. While authorities have not ruled out the possibility of an accident, the presence of these wounds and the cloudy appearance of the jacuzzi water—which has been sampled for laboratory analysis—have led investigators to examine all possibilities, including potential foul play. There were no immediate signs of forced entry at the property.

Local social services and psychologists are providing support to the two children, who are reportedly in shock. An uncle from Ireland is expected to travel to Spain to take custody of the minors. The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs is monitoring the situation.
