Irish folk music performances held in Germany

Various Irish folk music events have taken place in Germany, showcasing a wide range of styles from traditional melodies to modern fusion.

In Hattersheim, the Frankfurt-based ensemble ‘Sound of Spirit’ performed at the Evangelical Church. The group, consisting of Sabine Rupp, Karl-Heinz Krause, Xiaolu Li, and Li-Yun Hsu, presented a program titled ‘Zwischen den Welten’. Their performance blended Irish folk songs with modern ballads and music inspired by Celtic and European myths.

In Bad Wörishofen, an Irish Folk Festival at the Kursaal featured diverse acts. The lineup ranged from the traditional hammered dulcimer playing of Brian Leach to the high-energy ‘punky folk’ of The Outcast Crew. Other performers included Brian Haitz, Brendan Mulholland, and Astro Bloc, highlighting the versatility of the genre through various rhythmic and instrumental arrangements.
