Irish police warn of significant security threats for Dublin summits

Irish police have assessed a “significant” possibility of attacks and sabotage during two major international summits scheduled for November 12 and 13 in Dublin. The events include a European Political Community summit involving over 50 heads of state and an informal meeting of the 27 European Union member states.

Specialized detective units are preparing a security operation titled “Cuspóir Stair” (Historical Goal). To manage the heightened risk, all police leave has been canceled from November 10 to 14. Authorities are particularly concerned about drone incursions into restricted zones and state-sponsored cyberattacks.

Security officials suggest this operation may be more extensive than the security measures implemented during Donald Trump’s visit in September. The heightened alert follows previous incidents involving unidentified drones in Irish airspace, which officials have linked to hybrid warfare tactics.
