Irish Road Haulage Association holds annual conference in Killarney

The Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) is holding its annual conference at the Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney. The event serves as a significant gathering for thousands of hauliers and transport operators facing challenges such as rising fuel costs, regulatory pressures, and concerns regarding industry competitiveness.

Key political figures are scheduled to attend, including Minister for Climate, Environment, Energy and Transport Darragh O’Brien TD and Minister of State Seán Canney TD. Michael Healy-Rae TD is also a featured speaker. IRHA President Ger Hyland described the period as a “watershed moment,” warning that the removal of government fuel supports could place unsustainable pressure on the sector.

In addition to policy discussions, the event includes a display of vintage trucks and a showcase of the latest heavy goods vehicles and transport technology.
