Irish sports update: Rugby fixture announced and football prospects move to Premier League

In rugby, a new fixture has been announced for the Ireland XV to face England A at Sandy Park in Exeter on February 20, 2027. The match will take place during the Six Nations tournament, coinciding with the senior Ireland team's clash against Wales in Cardiff. This fixture serves as a critical opportunity for fringe players and emerging prospects to impress coaching staff ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.

In football, several Irish prospects are making significant moves within the Premier League. Ade Solanke has joined AFC Bournemouth from Lorient, while Arsenal is set to sign 17-year-old Victor Ozhianvuna from Shamrock Rovers for a record League of Ireland fee of €2 million in January. Additionally, Keilan Quinn joined Aston Villa from West Brom in a deal valued at nearly £1 million.
