iRobot rolls out Roomba Electro Plus cordless floor cleaner and five new robot vacuums

iRobot announced a major expansion of its floor‑care lineup, introducing the Roomba Electro Plus, a cordless hard‑floor cleaner that uses electrolyzed tap water to disinfect surfaces and claims to kill 99.99% of bacteria, viruses, fungi and germs without chemicals. Priced at $399.99, the unit combines vacuuming, mopping, self‑cleaning and self‑drying in a single handheld device.

Alongside the Electro Plus, iRobot unveiled five redesigned Roomba robot vacuums for the North American market: the Roomba Max 775 Combo with AutoWash dock, the Roomba Max 715 Vacuum with AutoEmpty dock, and three compact Roomba Plus models (415, 515, 575) each paired with AutoWash docks. The new robots feature stronger suction, LiDAR navigation, AI obstacle avoidance, anti‑hair‑wrap brushes and reduced footprints that fit under furniture with as little as 9 cm clearance. Prices range from $599 to $999.

The launch follows iRobot’s recent Chapter 11 restructuring, its acquisition by Shenzhen‑based Picea Robotics and a shift toward a broader floor‑care ecosystem, signaling the company’s renewed focus on innovation and consumer‑led product development.
