iRobot unveils Roomba Mini Slim compact robot vacuum in Japan

iRobot has introduced the Roomba Mini Slim, a new robot vacuum and floor‑mopping model aimed at users who consider robot cleaners too large or intrusive. The device measures only 24.5 cm in width, making it one of the smallest robot vacuums on the market and roughly half the size of iRobot’s previous Roomba 105 Combo unit.

The Mini Slim ships with a slim charging stand that stores vertically, allowing it to fit neatly in tight spaces. It combines vacuuming with a single‑button water‑mop function and accepts both proprietary and disposable cleaning pads. iRobot claims the suction power is more than 70 times that of the Roomba 600 series, and the unit uses ClearView™ LiDAR navigation to detect and avoid carpets while mopping. The product is being sold in Japan.

The launch targets consumers who have hesitated to adopt robot cleaners because of concerns about bulk and maneuverability, positioning the Mini Slim as a space‑saving, dual‑purpose cleaning solution.
