iRobot unveils upgraded Roomba vacuums and first water‑based mop robot

iRobot, now owned by Chinese firm Picea Robotics after the original company's 2023 bankruptcy, announced a new line of Roomba products. The flagship Roomba Electro Plus combines vacuuming, mopping and water‑based disinfection, using electrolyzed tap water to eliminate 99.99 % of bacteria, viruses and mould without chemicals. It features a rotating mop, automatic docking, self‑cleaning and UV‑sterilisation.

Alongside the mop, iRobot introduced five new robot vacuum models—Roomba Max 775 Combo, Max 715, Plus 575 Combo, Plus 515 Combo and Plus 415 Combo. The devices are about 46 % smaller than the previous generation, employ LiDAR mapping and AI for obstacle detection, and offer optional AutoWash or AutoEmpty docking stations. Prices start at roughly €340 for the Electro Plus and reach €850 for the top‑end Max 775 Combo. The first shipments are planned for the North American market.
