Široki Brijeg monastery celebrates 70 years of religious life for three sisters

The Monastery of the Annunciation in Široki Brijeg hosted a celebration marking the 70th anniversary of religious life for three Franciscan School Sisters: Asumpta Rozić, Lidija Čerkez, and Pija Slišković.

The sisters began their religious journey on October 7, 1956. During the Eucharistic celebration led by Guardian and Parish Priest Fra Jure Barišić, the sisters renewed their religious vows before the provincial superior, Sister Franka Bagarić, and the community.

In his homily, Fra Jure Barišić emphasized that a holy life serves as the most powerful form of preaching. Sister Franka Bagarić also acknowledged the sisters' faithfulness through periods of hardship, including poverty and war.
