Široki Brijeg: Two men arrested for attempted murder of brother

Two men have been arrested following an attempted murder involving a family dispute in the village of Tribošić – Donja Britvica, near Široki Brijeg.

On the evening of August 10, 2026, police responded to reports of a physical altercation outside a family home, followed shortly by reports of gunfire. Officers arrived to find a 63-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to the shoulder and arm, along with other visible injuries. The victim received emergency medical assistance and was transported to the Clinical Treatment Center in Mostar for further treatment.

Police detained two men, aged 45 and 74, at the scene. Authorities seized both firearms and cold weapons suspected of being used during the incident. The West Herzegovina Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that the prosecutor's office has ordered an investigation into attempted murder.
